A 26-year-old woman has been charged in court with beating up her boyfriend’s wife by bitting her armpit after she refused to let her speak with him.

Catherine Muthoni Mutiso who has been charged at Milimani Law courts Nairobi with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm is alleged to have committed the offence in Kasarani Nairobi.

“You are charged that on April 2022 13,2022 at AMG Centre at R1 Osters in Kasarani sub county within Nairobi City County, assaulted Peris Susan Wangui occasioning her actual bodily harm” read the charge sheet.

According to a police cover report seen by corridorsofjustice ,On the material day the accused went to the complainant business premises accompanied by a male person who introduced himself as a police officer and demanded to speak to her husband.

“The complaint was together with her husband and other employees when the accused person started an altercation with the complainant and assaulted the complainant by bitting her armpit” read the cover report in part

The complainant in her statement to the police said the accused went to the business premises and demanded to speak to her husband.

“The complainant who is known to me physically since I have met her before at the same office came and told me to leave the office since she wanted to speak to my husband” read part of her statement to the police.

The husband to the complainant also told the police that he knew the accused as his former girlfriend and narrated how the accused wrestled his wife in front of him.

“I knew Catherine as my former girlfriend and I told them to wait at the reception but she refused and became arrogant, she started pushing my wife and started a fight” read part of his statement to the police.

Catherine pleaded not guilty before Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu and was released on a cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
