- Wajir East Mp Rashid Kasim Amir has been arraigned before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi at Milimani Law Courts Nairobi County Kenya where he was charged with Assault.
- He was charged with causing actual bodily harm Contrary to section 251 of the penal code.
The lawmaker pleaded not guilty and was released on a lenient bond of 100,000 surety of the same or a cash bail of 50,000 Kenya shillings only.
It is alleged that on 13th Thursday June 2019 at 9.55am East African Time at Parliament parking Yard within Nairobi County Kenya.
Rashid willfully and unlawfully assaulted his colleague Fatuma Gedi Ali there by causing her bodily harm.
The MP is said to have been admitted at Aga Khan University Hospital Nairobi after the incident in a bid to escape charges.
ADetectives had to seek the permission of a Doctor through a written letter and arrested him from the hospital bed where he was arraigned in court and charged.
