- Two suspects arrested yesterday at JKIA in connection with fake Gold scam have been Arreigned in court this morning.
A ccording to the affidavit by the DCI the two were arrested with 26 metallic boxes,two motor vehicles a lorry and a Nissan xtrail believed to be connected to 30850 US dollar gold fraud.
The two Joshua Anyanga and Evanson Njoroge Mwangi appeared before Nairobi magistrate Martha Nazush and detained for five days.
The transnational police unit investigating officer Stanley Musembi told the court that they need more days to complete investigations to conduct identification parade which will be impossible if they are released.
During arrest the police recovered several exhibits like mobile phones,computer,cctv pvr and assorted business documents which need to be taken to cyber crime department for forensic examination.
The suspects are believed to be connected with other suspects who have already been charged in court before and the complainant are believed to be from Dubai,India and America.
The suspects lawyer June Ashioya told the court the two are Kenyans and are not at flight risk urged the court to release them on bail pending investigations saying the two will abide by all terms imposed by the court.
