Directors of Langata Hospital charged with Expired test reagents

Director of Langata Hospital Dr Ashoke Singh Matharu ,Operations Manager Muffadal Ammar HassamJee, Herbert Cheruiyot Charles and Beatrice Awino Ayoga at milimani law courts.
Director of Langata Hospital Dr Ashoke Singh Matharu ,Operations Manager Muffadal Ammar HassamJee  and two Lab technicians namely Herbert Cheruiyot Charles and Beatrice Awino Ayoga has been arreigned in court and charged with stocking Unvalidated and expired labaratory Reagents contrary to regulations.
The three face two counts of stocking Unvalidated labaratory Reagents contrary to regulations required by law.
Particulars of the offence are thst on 8th july 2020 at Langata Hospital along Langata road in Nairobi with otjers not before court were found stocking expired medical labaratory Reagents namely Bilurubin(T),combi 35,AST GOT,ACTONE,AREA BUN /UV,Magnesium, TRIGS,EXCEL ,LABYSYTEMS,BSA ACCURATE against medical Laboratory technicians and technologists Act
Their lawyer Mark Omuga told the court the First accused Ashoke Signh is medical doctor who has over 30yrs working experience and he has been in kenya for long ,his wife is a kenyan and his children.
The lawyer also told magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko that  practicing certificates of accused 3 and 4 who are lab technicians  have been confiscated he requesting they be returned to enable them to continue practicing
They pleaded not guilt and were released on a cashbail of 100k for the director and operations manager and 50k for the two lab technicians.
Court further ordered the practicing certificates for accused 2 and 3 to be released within 7days failure to an officer from the board to be summoned
