- A middle aged man has been charged with carrying out an online forex business without a licence contrary to the law.Samuel wagereka Nganga who appeared before a Nairobi magistrate court is alleged that on 1st January 2019 and 12th October 2019 at development house in Nairobi knowingly carried out business as online broker without a valid licence issued by capital markets authority.
- Samuel who faces a total of four counts is also charged with obtaining money by false pretences.
- On count two Samuel obtained sh1.6 m from Godfrey Irungu on diverse dates between 27th august and 9th september 2019 by falsely pretending that he would invest for him on an online forex trading a fact he knew to be false.
On another count samuel also faces charges of obtaining by false pretences from lydia wambui Nganga particular of the offence are that on 28th August to September 9th 2019,obtained sh300k by falsely pretending that he was in a position to invest for her an online forex trading a fact he knew to be false.
He also alleged to have obtained from Ann Wairimu Njoroge sh 200k for the same false pretences. - Samuel denied the charges before Principal magistrate Easter Nduva and was released on Sh4m cashbail after pleading for leniency.
