Former supply chain assistant ministry of devolution during governor Ann Waiguru tenure sentenced to serve 4yrs in prison or pay 4million fine.
The accused Selesio Karanja had been charged alongside PS Peter Mangiti and 22 others in NYS I scandal.
The accused who is a church elder had been put on his defence after court found that he had a case to answer.
On Thursday, Milimani Anti-Corruption Court chief magistrate Lawrence Mugambi found Karanja guilty of fraudulent procurement practice involving a Sh47.6 million tender.
The magistrate further barred Karanja from holding any public office.
When the magistrate acquitted Mangiti and 21 others he said the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against them.
In the case, Mangiti and his co-accused persons had denied that on December 12 2014 unlawfully disposed the millions.
Mangiti is not off the hook yet as he faces charges in the Sh791 million NYS case facing key suspects Ben Gethi , Josephine Kabura and others.
Others acquitted were John Musyoka, Ruth Njeri, Hesbon Mackobongo, Michael Wesley, James Kirigwi, Salim Molla, Samuel Mndanyi, Samuel Odhiambo, Henry Nyongesa, Freshiah Kamau, Moses Osoro and Kennedy Nyamao.
The rest were Florence Bett, Betty Njoki, Jennifer Muthoni, Stephen Laititi, Peter Mahungu, Francis Karanja, Timothy Ndekere, Regina Nyambura and Selesio Karanja.
Mang’iti faced a charged of conspiring to commit an economic crime, alongside 13 suspects. These are Harakhe, Nyongesa, Noor, Musyoka, Njeri, MackobongoWesley, Kirigwi, Molla, Mndandyi, Odhiambo, Kamau and Ogola.
He faced a second charge of abuse of office. He allegedly irregularly executed a contract with Blue Star Enterprises for the supply of automotive engineering material at a cost of Sh47.6 million.
The offence is said to have been committed on unknown dates without following procurement procedures.
