A Tanzanian charged with attempted Fraud of over Sh 5Million

A Tanzania national has been charged with attempted fraud.
John William Magesho is alleged that on diverse dates between 27th April 2020 and 13th May 2020 at unknown place within the republic of kenya with others not before court by use of electronic means he unlawfully with intent to defraud accessed the email address of kenya bureau of standards and National social security fund and attempted to divert payment of Sh 5,490,041 Million that were due for kenya bureau of standards from the said National social security fund to kenya commercial bank kipande house branch account No 1240193467.

The prosecution objected to the release of the accused on bail saying hes at aflight risk,the prosecution further said they needed more time to complete investigations.
They told magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko that the mobile phones confiscated from the accused were taken to cybercrime unit for further analysis and extraction of evidence.
The prosecution also said that there are other suspects who are atlarge and if the accused is released on bail he will interfere with witnesses.
His lawyer asked the court to dismiss the application by prosecution and release the accused on bail,saying he’s married to a kenyan and he has a fixed abond.
