- Mercy murithi alias Annah murithi arreigned in court for defrauding a businessman of Sh62M by pretending that she was in a position to award him a tender at the ministry of devolution and planning for the supply of laptops.
- Particulars of the offence are that between 8th August 2018 and 29th October same year jointly with otjers not before court conspired to commit a felony namely stealing a sum of Sh62.9 M from John Omondi the director of Hope land advertisement and design limited by fals3ly pretending that she was in aposition to award him a tender from the ministry of devolution and national planning for the supply of laptops valued at Sh94 Million a fact she knew to be false.
- She is also faces another charge of obtaining money by false pretences, particulars are that on the same date with others not before court with intent to defraud obtained Sh 62.9M from the same complainant by falsely pretending to award him laptop tender at the ministry a fact she knew to be false.
- Mercy who appeared before Nairobi Chief magistrate Martha Mutuku pleaded not guilty fot the offence and was released on a cashbail of Sh 100k
